HIS Mobile announces new mobile plans under 2,000 yen

HIS Mobile, a joint venture between travel agency HIS and Japan Communications Inc., has announced its new “Jiyu Jizai 3.0” pricing plans, set to launch on September 17. The new structure aims to keep all seven data tiers below 2,000 yen per month. Notably, the 30GB plan will be priced at 1,999 yen and includes a 6-minute unlimited calling feature.

To differentiate itself from major carriers, HIS Mobile is integrating travel-related benefits. This includes a yearly free 4GB eSIM valid in over 130 countries and regions, starting October 1, 2026, developed in collaboration with Israel-based Voye Global Connectivity. The company also offers various discounts on HIS Group services, such as Wi-Fi rentals and hotel discounts.

Other developments in the Japanese MVNO market include LINEMO introducing satellite-based communication via SoftBank Starlink Direct and IIJmio expanding its eSIM lineup. Additionally, BB. excite Mobile has announced eSIM support and highly competitive pricing for its 3GB and 30GB plans.
