Historic Train Tours in Piedmont Launch Autumn 2026
The Fondazione FS is introducing two historic‑train itineraries in the Piedmont region for autumn 2026. The first service, Milan‑Alba, will run on Sundays 11, 18 and 25 October, departing Milan Centrale at 09:05 and arriving in Alba at 12:35, with a return departure at 18:20. The train uses 1970s Gran Confort carriages and offers seasonal product tastings and stories about Nebbiolo and the Langhe’s truffle heritage.
The second route, Torino‑Canelli, is scheduled for the Sundays 1, 8, 15 and 22 November. It departs Torino Porta Nuova at 08:55, stops at Lingotto, Bra and Alba, and reaches Canelli around 11:30, returning in the early evening. The service runs in historic “Centoporte” carriages from the 1920s, with the inaugural 1 November run pulled by a steam locomotive. Both journeys combine scenic autumn foliage with enogastronomic master‑classes, promoting the UNESCO‑listed landscapes of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato. Tickets are available through Trenitalia and the Fondazione FS website.
