HLV platform under investigation for alleged fraud in Honduras

Authorities in Honduras are investigating HLV, a digital investment platform accused of operating a fraudulent scheme. Users in western regions, including Gracias and La Entrada, report being unable to access their accounts or withdraw funds. Individual losses are estimated between 50,000 and 200,000 lempiras.

Josué Portillo, a former representative in Gracias, has filed a complaint with the Ministerio Público, claiming he was also recruited by the organization and has since faced death threats. Additionally, social media footage has resurfaced showing Pastor Henry Pérez, formerly the platform's Director of Operations, promoting the system and promising that users could recover funds by ascending to higher membership categories.

The National Banking and Insurance Commission (CNBS) has issued a general alert following the collapse of HLV and the previous Koriun Inversiones scandal. The CNBS warned citizens to be wary of platforms promising rapid, high-yield returns through social media or apps, noting that unauthorized entities do not have the protection of the commission.
