Ho Chi Minh City advances AI and shared data models in education
Ho Chi Minh City is advancing digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in education management, teaching, and learning. With a student population of nearly 2.6 million, the city aims to build a shared data system to reduce the workload for teachers and ensure educational equity.
During a meeting organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong shared results regarding school network reorganization and digital solutions. The city has successfully reduced its number of educational institutions by 32% while maintaining classroom capacity. For the 2026-2027 school year, the city plans to implement over 1,000 new classrooms and continue policies such as tuition fee exemptions and textbook support.
