Ho Chi Minh City AI Education Conference Draws 260 ASEAN Leaders

More than 260 university leaders, education experts, researchers and industry executives from 108 organisations across 14 countries gathered in Ho Chi Minh City for the Global Higher Education Conference 2026. The event, co‑hosted by Van Lang University, the Education Malaysia Promotion Centre and the Malaysian Embassy in Hanoi, focused on integrating human‑centred artificial intelligence and future skills into ASEAN higher education through sustainable partnerships.

Prof. Dr Le Anh Vinh presented survey results showing that 90% of secondary students, 82% of higher‑education instructors and 88% of primary teachers in Vietnam are already using AI tools. Delegates discussed the shift from debating AI adoption to embedding it in curricula, warning against technology‑first approaches that ignore pedagogical goals.
