Ho Chi Minh City aims to add over 100,000 households to health insurance in May

The Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance Agency launched a May campaign tied to the national "Sports Month" drive, promoting the 2026 goal of universal social insurance. The initiative, themed "Social Insurance – A Lifelong Safety Net," targets the enrollment of about 104,000 households in the city’s health insurance scheme (BHYT) and an additional 7,000 participants in voluntary social insurance.

The campaign, coordinated with the state‑owned PVI Insurance, will involve mobile outreach teams offering direct advice at residential areas, markets, and commercial centers. Officials highlighted a shift from generic publicity to persuasive, easy‑to‑understand communication to encourage enrollment and meet the broader 2026 national targets for social insurance coverage.
