Ho Chi Minh City Chairman criticizes inefficient administrative procedures

The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City has expressed dissatisfaction with current administrative procedures, noting that despite ‘one-stop’ policies, businesses are still forced to navigate multiple departmental layers.

During a consultation conference on August 26, representatives from BESI Vietnam Co., Ltd. reported a two-month delay in receiving a state account number required to pay compensation for site clearance. Although the company has been granted special investment status and land rent exemptions, the inability to complete financial obligations due to a lack of response from the Department of Finance or the Tax Department has stalled their progress. The Chairman acknowledged the inefficiency, stating that the current system requires businesses to deal with various departments rather than a single centralized authority.
