Vietnam 2026 Grade 10 Admissions: Scores Delayed, Thousands Unplaced

Vietnam's 2026 grade‑10 entrance exams involve hundreds of thousands of secondary school students. In Ho Chi Minh City, more than 151,000 candidates sat the exams; the Education Department will release public‑school cutoff scores after 23 June to avoid “virtual” admissions caused by recent mergers with Bình Dương and Bà Rịa‑Vũng Tàu. Candidates who won spots in specialized, integrated or direct‑admission streams must confirm enrollment online by 23 June, with re‑examination results expected by 30 June.

In Cần Thơ, 45,231 students applied for 32 schools offering exam‑based admission and 59 schools using selection. The allocated quotas cover 23,120 and 9,184 seats respectively, leaving roughly 12,000 students without a place in public high schools. Those students will be directed to non‑public schools, regular education centers, or vocational programmes.

Hanoi announced its top scorer, Trần Minh Hà, who earned 29.75 points (including a priority point) and secured the first‑choice seat at THPT Phan Đình Phùng, surpassing the school's cutoff by four points. The city recorded over 124,000 test‑takers, with cutoff scores for the most selective schools ranging from 25.75 to 26 points and an overall admission rate of about 66 %. Re‑examination requests can be filed until 25 June, and successful candidates must confirm enrollment between 25 and 27 June.
