Ho Chi Minh City mobilises 6,000 student volunteers for 2026 exam support
More than 6,000 university students have been recruited to volunteer for the "Tiếp sức mùa thi" programme in Ho Chi Minh City, helping high‑school graduates at all 246 exam sites for the 2026 graduation examinations. The 2026 edition marks the 30th anniversary of the city‑level support initiative and the 25th anniversary of the nationwide programme.
Volunteers will provide on‑site guidance, security, traffic control, first‑aid, water, and essential supplies. The organising committee, led by the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union and the Student Culture Center, has secured nearly 10,000 T‑shirts, 3,500 caps, 2,300 raincoats, over 15,600 bottles of water, 22,500 meal vouchers and 47,000 other gift items for use during the exam period.
The programme also awarded 45 scholarships worth almost VND 100 million, plus English‑language scholarships and skill‑training courses valued at VND 16.5 million each. Prior to the launch, 84 career‑counselling events reached more than 45,000 students, 50,000 guidance booklets were distributed, and digital outreach generated close to 10 million impressions and over 1 million interactions. About 35 volunteer teams, selected from over 25,000 applicants, will operate across the city to ensure 100 % coverage of exam sites.
