Ho Chi Minh City expands search for 1968 mass graves at Tan Son Nhat Airport

The Ho Chi Minh City Command reported receiving 50 public calls about a possible collective burial site on the western side of Tan Son Nhat Airport. The location is believed to contain the remains of soldiers killed during the airport battle on the night of 30 January–1 February 1968 (Tet of the Year of the Monkey).

The command is widening the excavation pit at Lê Thị Riêng Park, preparing a field survey, and will employ ground‑penetrating radar to delineate the burial trench. After data collection and analysis, officials plan to hold a symposium to confirm the exact position of the mass grave and to guide further excavation work.
