Ho Chi Minh City faces poor air quality and hazy skies

Ho Chi Minh City has experienced hazy skies and reduced visibility due to cloudy and humid conditions. On September 16, several monitoring stations reported poor air quality. According to the AirVisual app by IQAir, the city's air quality index (AQI) reached 164, placing it in the unhealthy category. Other local monitoring stations recorded AQI levels between 114 and 123, which are classified as “poor.”

At these levels, sensitive individuals may experience health issues, though healthy individuals are typically less affected. In addition to the haze, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts heavy rain and thunderstorms for the region from September 17 to 20, with rainfall totals potentially exceeding 200 mm, which may lead to flooding in low-lying areas.
