Ho Chi Minh City implements traffic measures for Metro Line 2 construction
Traffic congestion has increased in western Ho Chi Minh City due to construction activities for Metro Line 2. Specifically, the construction of the ST9 station (Ba Quẹo station) has required road barriers and traffic reorganizations.
As of September 16, several traffic restrictions were implemented, including banning cars on certain sections of Tan Ky Tan Quy and Huynh Van Gam streets. These changes have caused significant bottlenecks at the Truong Chinh - Cong Hoa intersection.
To mitigate the impact, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police Department (PC08) is deploying personnel to coordinate traffic and is advising commuters to use alternative routes, such as traveling via Che Lan Vien or Ho Dac Di, to avoid the construction zones.
