Ho Chi Minh City launches multi‑billion‑dong bridge and admin‑center projects

Ho Chi Minh City has proposed a VND 2.7 trillion programme to build seven steel over‑passes at heavily congested intersections in the city centre and nearby provinces. Three central bridges will span the 3/2 road at the Dan Chợ Đông (560 m, 230 bn VND), Lê Dại Hành (480 m, 200 bn VND) and Lý Thường Kiệt (320 m, 187 bn VND). Additional structures include a 300‑m bridge in the old Binh Duong area (530 bn VND) and four 280‑m bridges in the Ba Rịa‑Vũng Tàu region (total 530 bn VND). The projects aim to ease traffic bottlene‑cks, especially during peak hours and heavy rain, and will be coordinated with the upcoming Metro line 2.

Separately, the city is accelerating construction of a new administrative complex and central square on a 46.7‑ha site in Thủ Thiêm. The development, budgeted at roughly VND 29.6 trillion, will be built between 2026 and 2028. It includes a 272,000‑m² administrative building for about 8,000 staff (VND 18.5 trillion), a conference‑performance centre (VND 6.9 trillion), a central plaza (VND 0.7 trillion) and supporting infrastructure (VND 3.5 trillion). The complex will be linked directly to Metro line 2, reinforcing the city’s push toward a modern, digitally integrated urban core.
