Ho Chi Minh City military runs youth training and checks war hero identity

The Ho Chi Minh City Command organised a five‑day training programme for 130 youngsters aged 12‑15, dubbed “child soldiers”, who spent time at the Gia Định regiment learning military discipline, history and rescue skills before the 2026 military semester.

Separately, the Command dispatched a senior officer to Tây Ninh to verify the identity of a recently discovered war‑hero remains at Lê Thị Rieng Park. Conflicting records list the fallen soldier as Hu Y‑nh Văn Quên or Hu Y‑nh Văn Quyên, prompting further cross‑checking of documents with local authorities and families.

Both activities illustrate the Command’s ongoing involvement in commemorating military heritage and engaging the community in defence‑related initiatives.
