Deputy PM Lê Tiến Châu vows to keep Vietnam's high‑school graduation exam stable

Deputy Prime Minister Lê Tiến Châu chaired a meeting with the Ministry of Education and Training, school officials and experts to review key education issues. Participants agreed to maintain the national high‑school graduation exam (THPT) without changes, emphasizing its role in providing reliable data on teaching quality and guiding curriculum adjustments. The discussion covered measures to curb cheating, including cross‑checks, increased use of technology and data analysis, and plans to further develop a separate digital testing system.

The meeting also addressed broader reforms such as reducing teaching loads, improving university admissions, and refining the criteria for appointing professors. Lê Tiến Châu highlighted the need for careful, evidence‑based policy adjustments, stating that “the exam provides essential data for evaluating the whole education system”. The ministry will incorporate expert feedback to fine‑tune upcoming policies and ensure the exam remains fair and transparent for all Vietnamese students.
