Ho Chi Minh City police summon TikToker for dangerous livestreaming
Ho Chi Minh City police have summoned Duong Hong Phuc, a TikToker known as ‘Li Minh Ho Quan 7’, to address his involvement in livestreaming dangerous and offensive content to gain views and financial donations.
During a livestream on August 10, Phuc participated in a ‘PK’ challenge, a format where users compete for virtual gifts. After losing the challenge, Phuc performed a dangerous stunt involving placing sharp fragments on his thigh and striking them with a hard object. The broadcast attracted significant engagement, with his account having between 48,000 and 63,000 followers.
Phuc admitted to performing these actions to increase interaction and convert virtual gifts into cash for his personal account. Following questioning by the Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Division, Phuc acknowledged his mistakes and pledged not to repeat such violations. Authorities have issued a warning regarding the rising trend of creators risking their physical safety for social media monetization.
