Ho Chi Minh City proposes 40-day process for central land recovery

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has proposed a new three-step process to recover land and housing currently managed by central government agencies. The proposed procedure aims to complete the recovery within a total of 40 days, establishing specific deadlines for each stage to resolve long-standing delays in handing over properties.

Currently, the city manages 1,491 sites and addresses belonging to central agencies, totaling over 11.48 million square meters. While approximately 9.3 million square meters are designated for continued use, other portions are slated for asset sales, land use purpose changes, or other recovery plans. The proposal seeks to address jurisdictional overlaps between local land management authorities and central agencies responsible for the buildings and structures attached to the land.
