Ho Chi Minh City reports multiple fires amid heavy rain
Ho Chi Minh City has experienced a series of fires amidst periods of heavy rainfall. On October 4, a fire broke out at a chair manufacturing company on Tran Van Giau Street in Tan Tao Ward. While no casualties were reported, the blaze caused significant property damage, including the deformation and collapse of iron frames and roofing, and damaged a nearby 16-seat vehicle.
This incident followed another fire on October 3 at a residential house on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street in Minh Phung Ward. Authorities determined the preliminary cause of the residential fire to be an electrical short circuit. Firefighting units responded to both scenes, and while the residential fire was quickly contained with minimal damage, officials are warning of increased fire risks in both residential areas and production facilities during heavy rain periods.
