Ho Chi Minh City targets 11% Q3 growth to meet 10% annual goal

Ho Chi Minh City has set ambitious economic targets for the remainder of 2026, aiming for a full-year GRDP growth rate of at least 10%. To achieve this, the municipal People’s Committee is targeting growth of at least 11.07% in the third quarter, 9.43% for the first nine months, and 12.3% in the fourth quarter.

During a meeting chaired by Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc on September 4, officials reviewed strong performance from the first eight months of the year. Key indicators included a 10.8% rise in the Index of Industrial Production and a 167.3% surge in FDI attraction, which exceeded 10 billion USD.

Other notable economic drivers included a 13.7% increase in total retail sales and consumer service revenue, reaching over 1.3 quadrillion VND. Tourism also showed significant growth, with 7.77 million international arrivals. State budget revenue for the period reached approximately 624.76 trillion VND, representing 77.6% of the annual estimate.
