Ho Chi Minh City to integrate IoT into smart transport infrastructure
Ho Chi Minh City is planning to integrate Internet of Things (IoT) sensor systems and intelligent surveillance devices into its transport infrastructure projects. The initiative aims to enhance traffic order and security while improving the detection and processing of traffic violations.
The municipal Department of Construction has been tasked with leading the application of IoT in the construction, management, operation, and maintenance of transport infrastructure. Additionally, the Department of Science and Technology will oversee research and experimentation into advanced technologies, including IoT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data, to support local production of equipment and platforms.
To fund these developments, the Department of Finance will explore resource mobilization through public-private partnerships (PPP) and external aid. The Municipal Police will coordinate the sharing of data from cameras and sensors to ensure public order and cybersecurity, focusing on the protection of personal data within these new systems.
