Ho Chi Minh City proposes 3,197 billion VND bridge to connect with Tay Ninh

Ho Chi Minh City is proposing several major infrastructure projects to improve regional connectivity and reduce traffic congestion.

A primary focus is the construction of the Rach Doi Bridge, a 3.3km project estimated to cost approximately 3,197 billion VND. The project aims to replace an aging iron bridge and connect HCMC's Hiep Phuoc commune with Can Giuoc in Tay Ninh Province. Scheduled for implementation between 2026 and 2029, the bridge is expected to facilitate smoother road and waterway transport, particularly benefiting ports on the Soai Rap River. Construction is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Additionally, HCMC is moving forward with a 3,563 billion VND road project connecting the Thoi An and Thanh Xuan 3 wards. This 4.5km route is designed to alleviate pressure on National Highway 1. The project involves significant land compensation and is expected to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2026, with completion targeted for 2028.

In Ca Mau province, authorities have adjusted the investment plan for a road connecting the National Highway 1 bypass to Ring Road 2. The total investment for this 2.83km route has increased by over 73 billion VND, bringing the total to more than 487 billion VND. This project is part of the 2026–2030 mid-term public investment plan.
