Ho Chi Minh City to release 142 open data sets for urban planning

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued Decision No. 4944/QD-UBND to establish a list of open data sets. The city will release 142 open data sets categorized into 11 themes via the Ho Chi Minh City Data Portal, allowing individuals and organizations to freely access and utilize the information.

A significant portion of this data pertains to urban development. The planning and construction group includes 1/2000 scale zonal planning data, GIS databases for classified old villas, construction material prices, labor unit prices, and information on commercial housing projects.

Starting in June 2026, the 1/2000 scale zonal planning data will be provided via API and updated quarterly. This GIS database will include information on planning boundaries, land use functions, road centerlines, and regional traffic data, including details such as project names, areas, populations, and approved developers.
