Ho Chi Minh City University of Education sets record admission scores

Ho Chi Minh City University of Education has announced its 2026 admission scores, revealing exceptionally high benchmarks that have created a rare scenario where national top scorers may fail to qualify for certain programs.

Under the high school graduation exam score method, Chemistry Education recorded the highest benchmark at 29.83 points. Other highly competitive majors include Literature Education and History Education, both at 29.80 points, and Mathematics Education at 29.49 points. The surge in scores is attributed to a strong demand for STEM and teacher training sectors.

The high thresholds mean that even students with top national scores in specific subject combinations lack the necessary points for admission without priority points. For instance, top scorers in the C00 and D14 combinations achieved 28.75 points, and the D01 top scorer reached 29 points, both of which fall short of the 29.80 requirement for Literature and History Education. In the A00 combination, while the top scorer achieved 30 points, several runners-up with 29.75 points also failed to meet the requirements for Physics or Chemistry Education.
