Thành Tuyên Festival 2026 to feature 129 lantern models

The 2026 Thành Tuyên Festival, themed ‘Lung linh đêm hội trăng rằm’ (Shimmering Full Moon Night), is scheduled to open on the evening of September 20 in Tuyên Quang province. The event has evolved from a local Mid-Autumn celebration for children into a major community cultural event that attracts both domestic and international tourists.

Local residents play a central role as both creators and participants. Currently, 129 unique Mid-Autumn lantern models created by various communes and wards have been completed and assigned official festival logos. From these, 40 representative models from five central wards will be selected to participate in a parade.

To ensure safety and order, authorities are implementing stricter requirements for the parade, including technical safety inspections for models and regulations on appropriate attire. The festival will also feature a variety of activities, including an agricultural festival, food stalls, a marathon, and off-road vehicle displays.
