Cultural and organizational events in Vietnam

Vietnam is hosting several major cultural and organizational events. The Vietnam Cinema Association convened its 10th Congress for the 2026–2031 term, focusing on innovation and the development of a modern, humane cinema and television industry. During the event, officials emphasized cinema’s role in reflecting reality, preserving national memory, and promoting Vietnamese culture internationally.

Simultaneously, regional cultural activities are underway. In Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Youth Federation is preparing for its 10th Congress following the merger of several regional youth organizations, accompanied by social welfare programs and the ‘I Love My Fatherland’ journey.

In Tuyên Quang province, the Thành Tuyên Festival is expanding its scope. The 2026 edition, themed ‘Lung linh đêm trăng rằm’ (Shimmering Full Moon Night), is scheduled to open on September 20. The festival has transitioned from a local Mid-Autumn celebration for children into a major community event for domestic and international tourists. Local residents serve as both creators and participants; currently, 129 unique Mid-Autumn lantern models have been completed by various communes and wards. From these, 40 representative models from five central wards will be selected for a parade. To manage the event, authorities are implementing stricter safety inspections for the models and regulations on attire. The festival will also include an agricultural festival, food stalls, a marathon, and off-road vehicle displays.
