Hobonichi and ELEMENTS report strong financial results
Hobonichi has announced its first consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending August 2026, reporting a significant increase in operating profit of 80.3% compared to its previous single-entity performance. The company achieved revenue of 10.722 billion yen and an operating profit of 1.112 billion yen. This growth is attributed to the expansion of its global presence through its subsidiary, Hobonichi Inc., and a rising global trend in ‘journaling’—the practice of using paper and pens for self-reflection—among younger generations.
Separately, identity verification firm ELEMENTS reported record-breaking third-quarter revenue of 1.53 billion yen, a 49% increase year-on-year, driven by the strong performance of its ‘LIQUID eKYC’ service. The company has revised its full-year financial forecasts to the upper end of its previous range. Additionally, its ‘LIQUID Auth’ service has surpassed 1.5 billion cumulative passkey authentications, seeing rapid adoption within the banking and securities sectors.
