Vietnamese artists celebrate Stage Ancestor Anniversary

Vietnamese artists across the country observed the traditional Stage Ancestor Anniversary (Giỗ Tổ nghiệp sân khấu) on September 22, marking the 12th day of the 8th lunar month.

In Gia Lai, the Gia Lai Traditional Art Theater held ceremonies including incense offerings and traditional music to honor predecessors and preserve arts such as Hat Boi and Bai Choi.

In Ho Chi Minh City, many prominent artists gathered at the ancestral temple built by artist Hoài Linh in Long Phước. The ceremony, which included lion dances and palanquin processions, saw the attendance of various celebrities such as Trấn Thành, Cẩm Ly, and Mạc Văn Khoa. Hoài Linh personally presided over the rituals and prepared offerings. During the event, Hoài Linh and his adopted son, Hoài Lâm, performed together, highlighting their continued professional bond. The temple, a significant structure valued at approximately 100 billion VND, served as a central hub for artists to pay respects and pray for success in their careers.
