Hokkaido bear attacks moving vehicle in Japan
A dashcam video captured a dramatic encounter on the Japanese island of Hokkaido, where a large bear, believed to be a mother accompanied by a cub, attacked a moving vehicle. The incident occurred on a Tuesday evening as a woman in her 30s was driving home from work.
After the driver braked to avoid hitting the animals, the bear charged the vehicle, striking the hood and shaking the car with its paws. The driver reported being trapped inside, fearing the animal would break the windows to enter the cabin. The attack caused significant damage to the vehicle, leaving deep scratches and punctures in the metal hood.
The driver was uninjured and managed to drive the damaged car to a nearby police station to report the incident. Authorities advise drivers to remain vigilant when traveling on isolated rural roads after sunset.
