Hokkaido food festivals and promotions held across Japan
Various food-related promotions and festivals featuring Hokkaido specialties are currently taking place across different regions in Japan.
In Toyama Prefecture, the ‘Great Hokkaido Exhibition’ has launched in Yamato, featuring 38 vendors selling seafood, beef, and sweets. Popular items include Tokachi Wagyu beef bento boxes and a limited edition ‘Nama Northman’ pastry. The event is scheduled to run until November 4.
Additionally, the family restaurant chain Washoku Sato is hosting a ‘Hokkaido Fair’ through December 9. The promotion includes seasonal menus such as Hokkaido miso ramen, seafood bowls, and dishes featuring Hokkaido pork and scallops.
Separately, the pufferfish specialty restaurant Genpin is conducting a ‘Tessa Free Fair’ from October 31 to November 3. During this period, the cost of pufferfish sashimi (tessa) is waived for customers ordering specific set courses.
