Hokkaido food exhibitions and festivals in Japan

Various food exhibitions and festivals featuring Hokkaido specialties are being organized across Japan.

In early September, department stores such as Keihan in Moriguchi and Tobu in Tokyo hosted autumn exhibitions. These events included regional gourmet items like seafood, pork bowls, and uni, alongside cultural activities such as Ainu workshops and floor curling experiences.

The Keihan Department Store’s Autumn Hokkaido Product Fair in Moriguchi continues through September 13, featuring a curling talk show and Ainu culture workshops. Meanwhile, the Tobu Department Store in Ikebukuro is hosting the ‘Gourmet Tour Autumn Great Hokkaido Exhibition’ from September 10 to 23, offering limited-edition bento boxes and live cooking stations for ramen and burgers.

Looking ahead to October, the 36th Hokkaido Fair is scheduled for October 1 to 4 at Yoyogi Park. Organized by Kitanippon Advertising, this outdoor event will feature approximately 70 booths showcasing various foods from across the region. Additionally, the Sumida Holiday Marche has announced a food festival for October 10 and 11, 2026, at Kinshi Park, celebrating its 10th anniversary with a focus on food education and Hokkaido-style cuisine.
