Holguín hosts 32nd Ibero-American Culture Festival
The 32nd Ibero-American Culture Festival is currently underway in the Holguín province of Cuba, bringing together creators from 12 different countries, including delegations from Panama, Chile, Colombia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Switzerland. The event, which runs until October 30, focuses on ancestral cultures and artistic education.
Key activities include a panel discussion on artistic teaching in Holguín and the premiere of the documentary ‘Viajero de extraviada ruta’, which explores the life and legacy of Luis Catalá Maldonado, a prominent watercolorist from Gibara. The festival also features the IV Meeting of Paper Artists, various photographic exhibitions, and the opening of the Iberian Cultural Center.
In addition to visual arts and literature, the program includes musical performances, a metal rock festival, and forums addressing sociocultural issues such as albinism. The celebration marks the 40th anniversary of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz and the 50th anniversary of the Ministry of Culture.
