In the Netherlands, a market review identified the five leading residential battery installers, with ThuisbatterijNederland topping the list after completing more than 1,000 installations and earning high customer ratings. Other notable firms include Zonneplan, which has installed over 150,000 systems and offers its own Nexus battery and energy‑contract platform.

Meanwhile, a six‑month pilot in the Otterbeek social‑housing district of Mechelen, Belgium, tested plug‑and‑play battery units in three households. The trial achieved a 49.3% self‑consumption rate, nearly double the expected figure, and reduced the amount of electricity fed back to the grid. The batteries were financed by the citizen cooperative Klimaan, which sells the stored power at a rate 10% below the social tariff. The project runs until January 2027, after which the partners will evaluate extending the solution to the district’s 197 homes.
