Hon Hai Technology Day highlights AI server expansion and vertical integration
Hon Hai Technology Group, led by Chairman Young Liu, showcased its expanded manufacturing capabilities and vertical integration during its latest Technology Day. The company announced that its weekly production capacity for AI server racks has doubled over the past year, increasing from 1,000 to 2,000 units per week.
Hon Hai is leveraging advanced precision manufacturing, achieving tolerances ranging from the micrometer to the nanometer scale. The company has introduced new metal processing techniques using high-precision molds to create 3D structures, which has improved material utilization by 3.3 times compared to traditional methods. In AI server production, the implementation of 100% automated assembly and co-design solutions has reduced the assembly time for compute trays from over two hours to just 20 minutes.
The company has established a global, cross-continental manufacturing system for AI servers. Components (Levels 1 to 5) are produced in Taiwan and Vietnam, motherboards (Level 6) are manufactured in Hsinchu, and system integration (Level 10) takes place in Taoyuan. Final system assembly (Levels 11 and 12) is positioned in the United States and Mexico. Additionally, Hon Hai demonstrated its ability to mass-produce NVIDIA Spectrum-X CPO switches through highly automated optical fiber alignment and testing processes in cleanroom environments.
