Hon Hai Technology Day unveils three new electric vehicle models

Hon Hai (Foxconn) showcased three new electric vehicle prototypes during its Technology Day in Taipei, expanding its presence in the EV market. The new models include the MODEL A+, a luxury off-road electric SUV featuring in-wheel motor technology and a B-pillarless design; the MODEL K+, a compact SUV inspired by Japanese City Pop culture; and the MODEL K, a light commercial vehicle designed for urban logistics and mobile commerce.

The company highlighted its vertical integration and technical capabilities, including the development of proprietary LiDAR and advanced sensor suites. Hon Hai is collaborating with Japanese partners, such as Honda, to develop autonomous driving technology, aiming for Level 4 capabilities without high-definition maps by 2030. Additionally, Mitsubishi Electric announced a strategic partnership to join Hon Hai’s EV alliance starting in October 2027.

Beyond automotive developments, Hon Hai reported significant advancements in AI infrastructure. The company has doubled its weekly production capacity for AI server racks to 2,000 units and has optimized assembly processes, reducing specific component assembly times from two hours to approximately 20 minutes.
