Honda and Suzuki announce new automotive technology roadmaps

Honda and Suzuki have announced significant updates to their technological and production strategies. Honda is accelerating the rollout of its next-generation hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) system, with plans to introduce new models starting in 2027. Reports suggest the CR-V could be among the first to feature this technology, potentially entering production as early as February 2027. The new system aims to be more compact and lightweight, targeting a 10% reduction in fuel consumption and a 30% reduction in production costs.

Separately, Suzuki Motor Corporation has unveiled a technological roadmap extending to 2036. The company will pursue a multi-energy strategy to adapt to varying regional infrastructures and fuel availability. Suzuki aims to achieve significant operational efficiencies by 2030, including halving vehicle development time, increasing development efficiency by 30%, and improving manufacturing efficiency by 50% through digital engineering and modularization.
