Honda announces next-generation Honda Hybrid technology
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has officially announced the name of its next-generation hybrid technology, “Honda Hybrid.” This new system is an evolution of the existing e:HEV two-motor technology and is designed to meet rising global demand for fuel-efficient vehicles that do not rely on charging infrastructure.
The company plans to launch 15 new models equipped with the Honda Hybrid system globally by the end of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2030, with North America serving as a primary market. The rollout of these vehicles is expected to begin in 2027.
Key technical improvements include a more compact and efficient drive unit, an expanded high-efficiency engine operating range, and a new platform focused on “Body Rigidity Management.” This approach aims to balance structural strength with weight reduction to improve handling and grip. Additionally, the new generation will feature a newly developed electric all-wheel-drive system (e-AWD) and an integrated Motion Management System to enhance driving stability and responsiveness.
