Overview

This branding replaces the ‘e:HEV’ name used since 2020. Honda plans to introduce 15 new hybrid models globally by March 31, 2030, targeting North America, India, and Japan. This shift follows a decision to reallocate resources from fully electric vehicle development toward hybrid technology. A central component is the electric all wheel drive (e-AWD) system, which utilizes a dedicated rear wheel electric motor to replace conventional mechanical driveshafts. Integrated with a ‘Motion Management System,’ this architecture aims to increase fuel efficiency by more than 10 percent and reduce system costs by up to 30 percent. Acura, Honda’s luxury division, will also adopt this new system.
