Honda dominates SUPER GT Round 4 at Fuji Speedway
In the fourth round of the 2026 SUPER GT season held at Fuji Speedway, Honda achieved a dominant one-two finish in the GT500 class. The newly debuted Honda Prelude GT secured its first victory with the 100th car, “STANLEY HRC PRELUDE-GT,” followed by the 8th car, “ARTA MUGEN HRC PRELUDE-GT,” in second place.
The race was marked by significant volatility, including a red flag interruption caused by a heavy crash involving the 64th car. Despite the chaos and changing weather conditions, the Honda camp emerged successful.
Meanwhile, the 36th car, “au TOM'S GR Supra,” delivered a notable performance despite severe technical handicaps. Facing an 80kg success weight and new fuel flow and refueling restrictor limitations, drivers Sho Tsuboi and Kenta Yamashita managed to climb from 11th on the grid to finish 4th. Tsuboi described the performance as “virtually a victory” due to the team's ability to overcome the significant performance penalties through cornering speed and strategic pit stops.
