Honda expands E-Clutch technology to CB750 Hornet
Honda has introduced the E-Clutch system to the CB750 Hornet, a mid-range naked motorcycle. The electronic clutch technology allows riders to start, stop, and change gears using only the left foot, eliminating the need to operate the clutch lever during these actions, though the lever remains available for manual use.
In Portugal, the Honda CB750 Hornet E-Clutch is priced at 8,500 euros. This price is identical to the 35 kW variant designed for A2 license holders. The 755 cc twin-cylinder engine produces 91 hp (67.5 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 75 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. The addition of the E-Clutch system increases the motorcycle's weight to 196 kg.
The E-Clutch is being expanded across several Honda models, including the XL750 Transalp, NX500, CBR500R, and CB500 Hornet, following its initial debut in the 650 series. Honda describes the system as working more smoothly and quickly than a traditional quickshifter.
