Honda expands 2026 motorcycle lineup globally

Overview

Honda’s mid-2026 global motorcycle expansion has seen significant market interest, particularly regarding its proprietary E-Clutch technology. In Japan, the CB400 SUPER FOUR E-Clutch, scheduled for release on August 21, 2026, has generated high preorder volumes, especially for the ‘Ross White’ colorway, leading to potential production concerns. To demonstrate the system’s circuit potential, the CB400 development team will participate in the ‘Tetsuuma’ amateur race at HSR Kyushu on September 19–20, competing in the Iron NK4 class to help establish future regulations.

The company also confirmed the September 18, 2026, launch of the CBR400R FOUR E-Clutch, a full-faired sport motorcycle marking a return to four-cylinder engines in this segment after 33 years. This model features a 399cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine producing 58PS.

In Argentina, Honda is updating its Hornet lineup. The 2026 CB500 Hornet has seen a 14.02% price reduction, with an E-Clutch variant priced at approximately $9,700. Regarding the 2027 CB750 Hornet, Honda has announced aesthetic updates featuring four new color combinations: Gunmetal Black Metallic with Ballistic Black Metallic, Mat Beta Silver Metallic with Iridium Gray Metallic, Glint Wave Blue with Mat Ballistic Black Metallic, and Grand Prix Red paired with Gunmetal Black Metallic. The model will retain its 755cc parallel-twin engine producing 92 hp, Showa suspension, and the Honda E-Clutch system.

This follows earlier regional rollouts in India, which included the Rebel 300 and the E85-capable ADV160 scooter, as well as the showcase of the CB1000 Hornet 2027 in Brazil.
