India July 2026 Auto Sales Surge as Maruti Suzuki Hits Record Domestic Volume and Tata Motors EVs Top 15,000
Maruti Suzuki posted its highest‑ever domestic sales in July 2026, delivering 2,00,123 units (including light commercial vehicles) and a total of 2,41,421 units when exports are counted. The overall Indian passenger‑vehicle market expanded by about 33 % year‑on‑year, with roughly 470,000 units dispatched.
Mahindra & Mahindra recorded total vehicle sales of 1,03,860 units, with domestic SUV sales reaching 60,048 units, a 20 % increase. Kia India achieved its best‑ever July wholesale volume of 28,200 units, up 27.4 % YoY.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles sold 63,760 units, a 59 % rise, and its electric‑vehicle (EV) sales jumped to 15,217 units, up 114 % YoY and surpassing 15,000 units for the first time. Hyundai Motor India posted a record July total of 75,360 units, including 54,210 domestic units (up 23.3 %) and a record export volume of 21,150 units.
JSW MG Motor India also reported a wholesale total of 8,158 units, with more than 80 % coming from new‑energy vehicles, underscoring the accelerating shift toward electrified models in the Indian market.
