Honda launches new 500cc CBR500R/NX500 in Mexico and announces 400cc CBR400R FOUR in Japan

Honda Mexico introduced the 500cc CBR500R and NX500 models, both powered by a parallel‑twin 471 cc DOHC engine delivering 47 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The CBR500R targets riders seeking a sporty, aerodynamic design, while the NX500 emphasizes comfort and versatility for longer trips. The launch expands Honda’s mid‑displacement lineup in the Mexican market.

In Japan, Honda confirmed the arrival of the CBR400R FOUR E‑Clutch, a 399 cc inline‑four sport bike slated for release on 18 September. It features an electronic clutch system, liquid cooling, dual‑camshaft architecture and a claimed output of 58 hp at 11 500 rpm. A naked‑style CB400 SUPER FOUR, sharing the same powertrain, will follow on 21 August. Both models incorporate modern electronics such as LED lighting and an electronic throttle, marking Honda’s return to the 400 cc sport‑bike segment after three decades.
