Honda Prelude-GT dominates GT500 qualifying at Suzuka

In the qualifying sessions for the 2026 Super GT Round 5 'SUZUKA GT 300km RACE' at Suzuka Circuit, the Honda HRC Prelude-GT dominated the GT500 class. The No. 17 Astemo HRC Prelude-GT, driven by Kodai Tsukagoshi and Yuto Nomura, secured pole position.

Honda's Prelude-GT models occupied the top four spots in the GT500 qualifying results. During official practice, the ARTA Mugen HRC Prelude-GT cars showed strong pace, with the No. 16 car recording the best time. The No. 100 Stanley HRC Prelude-GT, the winner of the previous round, faced challenges including a coolant leak and an engine change, which resulted in a five-second penalty to be applied after the race start.

In the GT300 class, the No. 18 Up Garage AMG GT3 recorded the fastest time during official practice.
