Honda revives Prelude nameplate as hybrid grand tourer

Honda is reviving the Prelude nameplate as a hybrid grand tourer, marking its return after a 26-year hiatus following the original model's discontinuation in 2001. The new generation features e:HEV hybrid technology and Honda S+ Shift technology, which is designed to simulate the sensation of gear changes for a more natural driving experience.

A limited edition version is being introduced to the European market following a successful launch in Japan. This special edition features a ‘Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic’ exterior, red accents on the bumpers, and 19-inch black alloy wheels with red Brembo brake calipers. The interior is upgraded with high-quality burgundy materials, red contrast stitching, and an embroidered ‘Prelude’ logo on the dashboard to emphasize exclusivity.

The new model represents a significant technological evolution from the original series, which was known for innovations such as four-wheel steering (4WS) and VTEC engines. The upcoming version is expected to be positioned with a starting price of approximately €39,400.
