Honda revives classic motorcycle heritage with new CB and CBR models
Honda is revisiting its heritage through the development of new motorcycle models that blend nostalgic design with modern technology. The 1997 CB400 FOUR, a retro-styled naked road sport featuring a four-cylinder engine and four distinct exhaust pipes, is highlighted as a model that sought to capture a classic aesthetic through independent component design and a five-speed gearbox, though it saw limited production at the time.
Building on this legacy, the new CBR400R FOUR E-Clutch has been introduced as a full-fairing counterpart to the Super Four series. While sharing much of its mechanical DNA with the CB400SF, the CBR400R FOUR features a unique “Digital Influencer” design language aimed at younger demographics in markets like China. The model emphasizes a “mass-forward silhouette” and offers an E-Clutch option, moving away from traditional racing graphics toward a more urban, sophisticated aesthetic.
