Honda secures first HRC Prelude-GT victory at Fuji Speedway

Honda secured its first victory of the season with the new HRC Prelude-GT at Fuji Speedway during the fourth round of the 2026 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series. The team achieved a 1-2 finish in the GT500 class, with the Team Kunimitsu pairing of Naoki Yamamoto and Tadasuke Makino taking the win, followed by the No. 8 ARTA car driven by Kaku Ohta and Hiroki Otsu.

The victory follows a three-month hiatus in the racing schedule caused by the cancellation of the Sepang round in June. Honda GT500 project leader Tomohiro Onishi stated that this extended break allowed the team to “course correct” and address technical issues that led to disappointing results in the first two rounds at Okayama and Fuji. Onishi noted that the time provided a “golden opportunity” to reflect on their development philosophy and make necessary adjustments to the machine.
