Honda sees strong demand for new CB400 E-Clutch and updated City sedan

Honda is seeing strong market interest in its latest vehicle releases, specifically the CB400 SUPER FOUR E-Clutch and the updated City sedan.

In Japan, the CB400 SUPER FOUR E-Clutch, scheduled for release on August 21, 2026, has generated significant demand. The mid-sized street bike features a 399cc inline-four engine and Honda’s proprietary E-Clutch system, which allows for optimized clutch control without manual lever operation. Priced at 998,800 yen, the model has attracted a wide demographic from age 20 to 40. Dealers report high preorder volumes, particularly for the ‘Ross White’ colorway, leading to concerns that production may struggle to meet demand.

Meanwhile, the updated Honda City is gaining traction in overseas markets, particularly India. Launched in May 2026, the compact sedan offers various powertrain options, including a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an e:HEV hybrid system. The vehicle features modern design elements, Honda SENSING safety technology, and a 6-speed manual transmission option. In India, prices range from approximately 1.19 million to 2.09 million rupees, sparking interest among Japanese enthusiasts who have expressed desire for its introduction to the domestic market.
