Honda sports cars see high resale value and market interest

Honda's performance models are maintaining strong market presence in Japan. The Civic Type R has demonstrated exceptional resale value, with some three-year-old models selling for 104% to 111% of their original new car price. This high demand is attributed to the rarity of its 2.0L turbocharged engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, a configuration becoming increasingly scarce as the industry shifts toward electrification.

Additionally, the Honda CR-Z, a pioneer in hybrid sports cars launched in 2010, remains a notable option in the used car market. Models featuring the updated hybrid system from the September 2012 minor change, specifically the high-grade 'α' trim, are identified as cost-effective choices, with total costs around 1.2 million yen. The later 2015 models are also available for approximately 1.8 million yen.
