Honda to launch third‑generation Ridgeline pickup for the US market

Honda Motor Co. has confirmed that development is under way on the third‑generation Ridgeline pickup. Production of the current model will cease by the end of this year, with a transition period before the new vehicle enters production at Honda’s Alabama plant. Design work is being done at the company’s Southern California studio and engineering at the Honda Auto Development Center in Ohio. The next‑gen Ridgeline is expected to arrive within the next two years, likely as a 2029 model year, and will feature a more rugged appearance inspired by the latest Passport. It is also set to receive a new V6 power unit that may incorporate up to three electric motors, promising over 10% faster acceleration and more than 30% better fuel economy while retaining the Ridgeline’s unique self‑supporting body construction.
