Honda unveils refreshed Accord for Japanese market

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Accord, Honda has introduced a modestly refreshed version of its flagship sedan for Japan. The updates are largely visual: body‑colour‑matched trim replaces the previous black accents on the front bumper, grille and lower panels, the front‑light clusters now feature transparent turn‑signal elements instead of orange, and the antenna adopts a shark‑fin shape in the same colour as the body. The grille and front bumper receive a subtle redesign, while the overall dimensions remain unchanged.

The mechanical layout stays the same, with the e:HEV hybrid powertrain – a 2.0‑litre gasoline engine paired with two electric motors and an eCVT – delivering 207 hp to the front wheels. The highlight is the upgraded Honda Sensing 360+ suite, which adds hands‑off highway driving assistance, enhanced collision‑avoidance, driver‑attention monitoring, adaptive cruise control with traffic‑jam assist and lane‑keeping support. Prices in Japan start at ¥5.95 million (about €34,600) for the base model and rise to roughly ¥6.5 million (≈ $39,600) for the fully equipped Sensing 360+ version.
